On Saturday at Churchill Downs, the featured race is the 6th installment of the $100,000 Open Mind Stakes. The six-furlong contest will be run on the main track and has attracted a field of seven fillies and mares.

Headlining the field at morning line odds of 5-2 is Vuitton who is also cross-entered in the Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint Stakes. Trained by Eddie Kenneally, the five-year-old daughter of Smart Strike will attempt to defend her title in the Open Mind Stakes after winning the 2013 edition of the race. She is winless from four starts this year and her best effort was a runner-up effort against optional claiming competition at Churchill Downs. Miguel Mena has been named to ride and the pair will break from post five.

Interest Free going for first stakes victory

Second choice on the morning line at odds of 3-1 is Interest Free for trainer Neil Howard, Jr. The gray daughter of Exchange Rate, a $150,000 purchase as a yearling, has won four of her eleven starts and will be trying to earn her first stakes win. Brian Hernandez Jr. will be back in the irons following a fifth-place finish in the Gardenia Stakes (G3) in her last start. She will be equipped with blinkers for the first time and is slated to break from post position four.

Airofdistinction gets a rider switch

Also in the field is Airofdistinction at odds of 7-2 from post position six. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the four-year-old daughter of Songandaprayer will have Ricardo Santana, Jr. aboard after a third-place finish under Rosie Napravnik in her most recent outing. Airofdistinction has won four of her thirteen career starts, two of which have come this year. In February, she earned her first stakes victory in the Spring Fever Stakes at Oaklawn Park.
