Beholder headlines the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 6-5 for trainer Richard Mandella. A multiple Eclipse award champion as well as a two-time Breeders’ Cup winner, the five-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes has won twelve of her seventeen starts and is undefeated from two outings this year. Last time out, she won the Adoration Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita. Gary Stevens will be aboard and they will break from the inside post.
Warren's Veneda returning to a route race
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Warren’s Veneda for trainer Craig Lewis. A five-year-old daughter of Affirmative bred in California, she is an eight-time winner with multiple graded stakes victories to her credit. She is stretching back to two turns after sprinting in the Great Lady M Stakes (G2) at Los Alamitos where she finished fourth. Regular rider Tyler Baze will be aboard and they will break from post position four.
Well-bred Honey Ride trying for first stakes win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 10-1 is Honey Ride for trainer John Sadler. A four-year-old daughter of Candy Ride (ARG), she is out of the multiple graded stakes winning mare Tarlow and is a homebred for owners Jerry and Ann Moss. Honey Ride is stepping back up to graded stakes company in search of her first black-type win after an allowance score last time out. She will break from post position two under jockey Victor Espinoza.
