Enchanting Lady Trying to Break Through in $150,000 Victory Ride
Bob Baffert will saddle the heavy favorite, Enchanting Lady, at odds of 6-5 on the morning line. A dark bay daughter of Tale of the Cat, she was purchased for $650,000 as a juvenile and has won two of her six starts. She will be trying to earn the first graded stakes victory of her career and was last seen finishing second as the favorite in the Jersey Girl Stakes. John Velazquez will be aboard for the first time and they will break from post position two.
Promise Me Silver trying to rebound after first defeat
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Promise Me Silver for trainer William Bret Calhoun. Bred in Texas by owner Robert Luttrell, the gray daughter of Silver City had won all eight of her starts before her winning streak was snapped by a tenth-place finish in the Acorn (G1) last time out. She is cutting back slightly in distance and will break from the rail with Robby Albarado back in the irons.
Miss Ella shooting for second graded stakes win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Miss Ella for trainer Graham Motion. A bay daughter of Exchange Rate, she has won two of her three starts and is trying to rebound after finishing seventh in the Acorn (G1) in her most recent start. Prior to that, she won the Beaumont Stakes (G2) in only her second outing. Rajiv Maragh will remain aboard and they will break from the outside post.
