Gimme Da Lute tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 for trainer Bob Baffert. A bay son of Midnight Lute, he is cutting back to a sprint after a third-place finish in the Pat Day Mile (G3) at Churchill Downs last time out. He has won two of his four total starts and was a minor stakes winner at Santa Anita. Regular rider Martin Garcia will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position seven.
Blame Jim stepping back up to stakes competition
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is Blame Jim, a homebred son of Sharp Humor for Repole Stable. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the bay gelding has won two of his four starts and was last seen winning an allowance race at Parx as the heavy favorite. He has been training forwardly since that race and is scheduled to break from the rail under jockey John Velazquez who was aboard for his first two career starts.
City of Vengeance getting a surface switch
Also in the field and a long shot at 12-1 on the morning line if City of Vengeance for trainer Wesley Ward. A gelded son of City Zip, he will be switching to conventional dirt for the first time after competing over turf and synthetics in his first three starts. He won his first two races on the grass and was sixth in the Woodstock Stakes on synthetics last time out. Joel Rosario will be in the irons for the first time and they will break from post three.
