On Saturday at Golden Gate, the featured race is the $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes. Restricted to two-year-olds, the race will be contested at one-mile on their synthetic main track and has drawn a field of six colts and geldings.

Jerry Hollendorfer will saddle Allaboutaction as the overwhelming even-money favorite. A gelded son of Candy Ride (ARG), he was purchased for $200,000 as a yearling and will be making his stakes debut after a maiden victory last time out. In his first career start, he delivered as the heavy favorite by nine lengths over nine rivals. He will get a jockey change to leading rider Russell Baze and they are scheduled to break from the inside post.

Algenon looking for breakthrough victory

Second choice at morning line odds of 5-2 is Algenon for trainer Len Kasmerski. A homebred son of Aragorn (IRE), the chestnut colt has been on the board in all five outings and has two career victories. He will be trying to earn his first stakes victory and was last seen finishing second in the Golden Nugget Stakes at Golden Gate. Ricardo Gonzalez will be in the irons and they will break from post position three.

Gold Rush Dancer a consisent competitor

Also in the field at morning line odds of 9-2 is Gold Rush Dancer for trainer Candi Tollett. A California-bred son of Private Gold, the consistent colt has been on the board in all six starts and has two victories. He notched his first stakes victory at Emerald Downs two starts back in the Gottstein Futurity and was third in the Golden Nugget Stakes last out. Julien Couton will be aboard from post position four.
