The Grade 3 $100,000 Sweetest Chant starts an all-stakes late pick 4 January 24 at Gulfstream Park, as a field of ten three year-old fillies is set to contest the one mile race on the grass.
Consumer Credit is the 2/1 morning line favorite for trainer Chad Brown after winning two of four starts as a two year-old, including the $75,000 Wait A While November 29 at Gulfstream West. Consumer Credit, a daughter of More Than Ready, has won her last two starts and appears to have things figured out after starting her career with consecutive defeats. In her two wins, the filly showed a high cruising speed and an excellent closing kick, which should give jockey EJ Zayas a tactical advantage.
Quality Rocks brings class and speed
Quality Rocks (3/1),also finished her two year-old season with two wins in four starts including a Polytrack stakes victory at Arlington Park. In two turf starts, the Bill Mott trainee finished second in the Grade 3 Jessamine at Keeneland and tenth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. Quality Rocks has good early speed and will receive the services of leading Gulfstream jockey Javier Castellano. The pair will break from post four.
Undefeated filly goes for stakes score
Miss Temple City (4/1) hails from an excellent turf barn and enters the race undefeated after posting consecutive turf wins at Laurel Park and Gulfstream to begin her career for trainer Graham Motion. In her last start, Miss Temple City stretched out nicely to a mile and one sixteenth after breaking her maiden in a five furlong turf sprint.
