On Sunday at Woodbine, the featured race is the $200,000 Bessarabian Stakes. A Grade 2 race for fillies and mares, it will be contested at seven furlongs over the all-weather main track and has drawn a field of seven.
Elusive Collection tops the competitive field as the morning line favorite at odds of 9-5 for trainer Josie Carroll. A three-year-old daughter of Elusive Quality, she will continue her upward career trajectory and is undefeated from two starts. After breaking her maiden, she continued on to win the Etobicoke Stakes and will be facing graded stakes caliber company for the first time. Luis Contreras will be in the irons and they will break from post position three.
Marbre Rose (IRE) trying to return to form
Second choice at morning line odds of 3-1 is Marbre Rose (IRE) for trainer Christophe Clement. A four-year-old daughter of Smart Strike, she has won four of her fourteen starts and is a graded stakes winner. She will be trying to rebound after a sixth-place finish in the Nobel Damsel Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park and is scheduled to break from post position four with jockey Alan Garcia aboard.
Consistent Endless Light (GB) aiming for breakthrough win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 7-2 is Endless Light (GB) for trainer Mark Frostad. A five-year-old daughter of Pivotal (GB), she is trying to earn her first graded stakes victory and has been on the board in all nine of her starts with two victories. She has been second in her last two outings, both against graded stakes competition, and will have Emma Jayne Wilson aboard from the inside post.
