On Wednesday at Del Mar, the featured race is the $90,000 The Green Flash Handicap. The six-furlong contest will be run on the synthetic main track and has attracted a field of seven including the popular veteran, Caracortado. 
The Grade III $150,000 La Jolla Handicap headlines the Del Mar card August 9 as a field of six three year-olds line up to contest the mile and a sixteenth race on the grass. 
On Wednesday at Saratoga, the highlight of the racing card is the $100,000 John’s Call Stakes. The long distance race will be contested at a mile and five-eighths over the Mellon Turf Course and has drawn a field of nine with one horse entered for the main track only. 
The $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes at Del Mar August 1 features a full field of 12 sprinters scheduled to go seven furlongs on the Polytrack in what looks to be a good betting race. 
On Thursday at Saratoga, the 33rd running of the $100,000 Evan Shipman Stakes has drawn a field of eight New York-bred colts and geldings. The race will be contested at a mile and an eighth on the main track. 
On Saturday at Del Mar, some of the top older horses on the West Coast are scheduled to compete in the San Diego Handicap (G2). It is the 73rd running of the mile and a sixteenth race and it will carry a purse of $200,000. The field of eleven was reduced to ten after the untimely death of Dance With Fate on Thursday. 
This Wednesday at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the track will host the 25th running of the $90,000 Wickerr Stakes. The one mile race will be contested on the turf and has drawn a field of nine colts and geldings. 
On Saturday at Arlington Park, a field of eight three-year-old fillies will compete for a purse of $150,000 in the Arlington Oaks. The Grade 3 event will be contested at a mile and an eighth over the synthetic main track. 
In keeping with tradition, the Oceanside Stakes headlines Del Mar’s opening day card July 17 at the famed California track.
