On Saturday at Belmont Park, a field of seven colts and geldings will be competing in the $600,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic. The Grade 1 will be run on the Widener Turf Course at a mile and a half and will serve as a key prep race for the Breeders' Cup Turf. Through the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series, the winner will be granted an automatic berth in the championship race. 
The Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes September 20 at Parx features everything a $1 million dollar horse race should: a deep field, a superstar, and plenty of betting intrigue. 
On Saturday at Churchill Downs, a field of ten sophomore fillies will compete in the $100,000 Dogwood Stakes. The Grade 3 race will be run at seven-furlongs on the main track, underneath the iconic Twin Spires. 
On Saturday at Churchill Downs, the featured race is the 6th installment of the $100,000 Open Mind Stakes. The six-furlong contest will be run on the main track and has attracted a field of seven fillies and mares. 
With mid-week stakes action around the country sparse, the September 10 card at Indiana Grand Race Course features the $85,000 Merrillville Stakes for Indiana-bred fillies and mares as a field of ten is set to contest the six furlong event on the main track. 
Belmont Park’s fall meet will kick off on Friday and is highlighted by the inaugural running of the $100,000 Left Bank Stakes. The one mile contest has drawn a field of six colts and geldings. 
The $300,000 Grade II Prioress Stakes for three year-old fillies August 30 at Saratoga has the potential to be a very good betting race with at least five horses in the field of eight appearing evenly matched. 
On Sunday at Del Mar, some of the top sprinters in the country will square off in the $250,000 Pat O’Brien Stakes. The Grade 2 event has drawn a field of eight and will be run at seven furlongs over the synthetic main track. 
On Monday at Saratoga, the featured race is the inaugural running of the $100,000 Summer Colony Stakes. Scheduled to be run at a mile and an eighth on the main track, the race has drawn a field of six fillies and mares.
